Dental cleaning with a dentist or dental hygienist
Most often, the dental cleaning is performed by our dental hygienist. The dental hygienist has completed a 3-year training program focusing on examinations, dental cleanings and periodontal treatments. Our dental hygienists are therefore specialists in this area of dental care.
Dental cleaning makes it easier to maintain good dental health
Regular dental cleanings keep your teeth clean and smooth, making them easier to brush at home.
The best treatment
The dental hygienist primarily focuses on preventive work, such as fluoride treatments. The dental hygienist also creates treatment plans for examinations alone or in consultation with the dentist.
The best treatment is ensured by regularly visiting both a dental hygienist and a dentist, as with each of our specialties together we give you complete coverage of preventive work and treatment.
What if I have gingivitis or periodontitis?
The cleaner your teeth, the lower your risk of developing gingivitis and periodontal disease.
When plaque and tartar are removed and teeth are kept clean, gingivitis can disappear within a week and gums will be healthy again.
Untreated gingivitis can lead to periodontal disease, where the supporting tissue around the tooth breaks down and the teeth become loose. If you have periodontal disease, you will need more frequent visits to the hygienist or dentist who will check your gum pockets and clean your teeth both above and below the gum line.
What does a dental cleaning cost?
The price of a dental cleaning is regulated by the government, so you pay the same amount at all dentists in Denmark.
